Weekend Wonders at Forever Wild: A Visit to Uncle Joel and Aunty Chemaine’s Sanctuary This past weekend, the girls and I took a special trip out to Phelan, California to visit some of our favorite people—Uncle Joel and Aunty Chemaine—at their incredible Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary. It was a day filled with awe, learning, and love as we explored the sanctuary they’ve so passionately built to protect and care for rescued wildlife.From towering tigers and curious monkeys to colorful exotic birds, slithering snakes, and even powerful alligators, the sanctuary was alive with energy and purpose. Valkyrie and Freyja were wide-eyed with wonder, asking questions and soaking in every moment as they walked among creatures from around the world, all lovingly cared for by our amazing family.Spending time with Uncle Joel and Aunty Chemaine reminded us how important it is to fight for those who can’t speak for themselves. Their dedication to animal rescue and education is inspiring, and we left feeling more connected to the wild world—and each other—than ever. At Central Park Lake in Huntington Beach, Valkyrie and Freyja shared aloha with every fisherman they met—handing out free Hawaiian Vikings shirts and making new friends along the way. Even if the fish weren’t biting, everyone walked away with a smile and a little extra sunshine in their day.
